Planning the perfect wedding reception is an important component of an amazing wedding. Here are five tips to help you plan an Epic Wedding Reception.
Tip #1
Pick a wedding date and venue – Before shopping for your preferred wedding vendors, you have to have your date and venue set and booked. Therefore, the first step is to pick a date and confirm your venue is available for that day. You can then inquire with vendors to confirm they are available. Most brides start planning about a year in advance so be sure to start planning early for popular dates.
Tip #2
Build a timeline – Start with a timeline that include every major detail of your reception. Include everything from the cocktail hour, to the bridal party entrance, to cake cutting, and your last dance. This ensures you don’t forget anything and gives you good frame of reference for hiring your DJ, etc.
Tip #3
Anticipate your guests needs – Sometimes it’s the little things that can make or break your wedding reception. What are your guests going to do while you are out taking pictures? What are the kids going to be doing at your reception? What type of entertainment will you have for guests who don’t like to dance or want to take a break from the dance floor?
Tip #4
Wedding Favors – Wedding favors are a great way for your guests to remember your special day and are a great thank you for everyone coming to share your day. Personalized keepsakes are always a huge hit. We are of course partial to giving all your guests a photo of themselves all dressed up looking their best, personalized with the couples name and wedding date. Instant prints are an amazing wedding favor and are one guests are sure to post on the fridge as opposed to a baby soap that winds up in the back of a drawer somewhere. Photos of people having fun are always a huge hit.
Tip #5
Bring the Fun – No one wants to go to a wedding reception with nothing to do. We’ve all been to receptions where there are no fun events planned and people are just sitting around waiting for the bridal party entrance and the festivities to begin. Why not have a photo booth up and running where guests can take pictures and play party games on the booth between photo sessions. Prizes are optional! Photo booths are great fun for all ages. Photo booths are fun for the kids and help keep them entertained. Adults love taking a break and acting silly for the camera. Having a photo booth at your reception is a great way to entertain guests of all ages at your wedding reception.
